Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about SeatLock deposits and early access.

What is SeatLock?

SeatLock is an early access platform that helps real fans secure their spot for event presales. By placing a small deposit, you get priority access to purchase tickets when they go on sale. SeatLock never sells tickets directly — we only facilitate the early access process.

Is this a ticket purchase?

No. Your deposit is NOT a ticket purchase. It reserves your spot for early access to buy tickets from the venue or authorized seller. The deposit is separate from the ticket price.

How do I get my deposit back?

Your deposit is always refundable:
  • If you buy a ticket: Your deposit is refunded automatically once the venue confirms your purchase.
  • If you don't buy: Your deposit is automatically released when the sale window closes.
  • If the event is cancelled: Your deposit is refunded automatically.

How long does a refund take?

Refunds are processed immediately when triggered. However, it typically takes 5-7 business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer.

What is a sale window?

A sale window is the time period during which you can use your early access link to purchase tickets. Each event has specific start and end times for its sale window, which are displayed on the event page and in your confirmation email.

What happens if I miss the sale window?

If you don't purchase a ticket before the sale window closes, your deposit is automatically released back to your original payment method. No action is required from you.

Can I get a refund before the sale window ends?

Deposits are held until the sale window closes to ensure fair access for all fans. If you choose not to purchase, your deposit will be automatically released when the window ends.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, an industry-leading payment processor. We never store your credit card information on our servers.

Why do I need to place a deposit?

The deposit system serves several purposes:
  • Helps venues gauge real demand from serious fans
  • Prevents bots and scalpers from hoarding presale spots
  • Ensures early access goes to fans who genuinely want to attend

Can I make multiple deposits for the same event?

Each event has a deposit limit (usually one per person). This helps ensure fair access for all fans. The limit is displayed on the event page.

Can I transfer my deposit to someone else?

No. Deposits are non-transferable. This prevents speculation and ensures early access goes to the person who made the deposit.

What if the event is cancelled or postponed?

If an event is cancelled or significantly changed, all deposits are automatically refunded in full. You'll receive an email notification with details about the refund.

Does SeatLock guarantee I'll get tickets?

No. SeatLock provides early access to ticket sales, but does not guarantee ticket availability. Ticket inventory is controlled by the venue or ticket seller. However, by placing a deposit, you're among the first to have access when tickets go on sale.

Where can I check my deposit status?

Log in to your My Deposits dashboard to see all your active deposits, their status, and any available early access links.

I didn't receive my confirmation email. What should I do?

First, check your spam/junk folder. If you still can't find it:
